Wellness - School Health
Elementary school, middle school, and junior high school students at Patton Springs ISD engage in over 135 minutes per school week of physical education. This fosters better overall health, higher self esteem, and increases concentration and stamina in the classroom.
Patton Springs ISD has adopted and enforces policies to ensure that district campuses comply with agency vending machine and food service guidelines for restricting student access to vending machines. The vending machines are turned on after lunch for junior high and high school students; elementary students are not allowed to purchase any food or drink from the vending machines until after school.
Patton Springs ISD has adopted and enforces policies and procedures that prescribe penalties for the use of tobacco products by students and others on school campuses or at school-sponsored or school-related activities. Any student with tobacco in their possession is disciplined according to the school’s discipline policy. Any adult who uses tobacco products of any kind are escorted off the premises.
The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is comprised of 2 local teachers and 3 community members.
